Changing staff behaviour for person centred care

We think we just have to educate people in person centred care and they will see how sensible it is to do this and they will adopt it. Wrong.

We think we just have to change their attitudes and they will behave in a more person centred manner. Wrong.

We think we know what motivates people to act the way they do. Wrong.

Check out this short TED talk on Three Myths of behaviour change. It is enlightening. I hope it prompts discussion on how best to achieve behaviour change among care staff in long term care.
